According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 65.5 percent of abuse was done by a male stranger, compared to 29.2 percent being females. In addition, 86.6 percent of abuses by a male friend or male acquaintance occur, compared to 40 percent that are female. These statistics are frightening, but true.
